As if I was a tourist

Twice a year there's a farm machinery sale in a small town a few miles from here. In the past years I've gone as do most people around here to look at all the junk and if I would happen to see something of interest, I might buy it. This year however, I thought It might be kinda interesting to go as if I was a tourist. As if I didn't know anything about the many Amish that attend one of the sales/social gatherings of the year.

So, my sister and I along with my 40D and 70-200 2.8L went........as tourist.....

And here's what I come home with

I do know this guy.....

Awesome pictures of everyday scenes (the Amish are the every day scenes!)...
To the first anonymous:
The Amish believe that they must live a peaceful life; they believe in nonresistance. They believe in simplicity, no electricity, they drive horse and buggies, wear plain clothes, There is a group that believes it is wrong to have to have battery operated light on their buggy, so they put lanterns on as lights! :)
They believe that once one joins church and lives a good life then can one "hope" to go to heaven.

i guess i didn't comment here... i was thinking tho' didn't you violate some code or somethin' by taking all these pics of amish guys?! you should come here for the huge horse sales in our area... there are always tons of amish guys that come to that. they are so funny in their own un-funny way.

I enjoy your photography. It's good, it's real, it's not... pretentious. I like it :)
